Self reflection journal moment with My Compass for quiet personal reflection in nature

A private space for reflection and self-alignment

In most places, contribution is measured by what you do.

At cOMmon, we also pay attention to how things feel. Where your energy moves. What comes easily. What asks effort. What matters, to you.

That’s why My Compass exists. It's a self reflection journal to notice where you are.

Not to guide you. Not to improve you. But to give you a quiet place to notice yourself.

Your rhythm, your reflection

Within cOMmon, people contribute in very different ways. Some act. Some think. Some carry, hold, or connect. These differences aren’t something to resolve. They’re part of how we work and live together.

My Compass is there to help you sense:

  • where your energy currently flows

  • which forms of contribution feel nourishing

  • which challenges you’re drawn to, and which feel misaligned

  • how you relate to time, care, attention, and resources

  • what feels spacious, and what feels tight

There are no scores. No suggestions. No conclusions.

Just a mirror. A place to be honest with yourself, without explanation.

Self-awareness, not performance

My Compass is not a ranking system. It doesn’t assess you. It doesn’t compare you to others. And it doesn’t influence access, visibility, or opportunity.

Nothing is derived from it. Nothing is decided through it.

It’s simply there for you. To notice where you are, and how that feels.

Sometimes that brings clarity. Sometimes relief. Sometimes quiet pride.

And sometimes, it’s enough just to have looked.

Private by default, always

Everything you reflect on in My Compass stays with you. It isn’t shared. It isn’t published. And it isn’t used to trigger anything else.

You’re not expected to fill it in. There’s no consequence if you don’t.

You may choose to draw from your own reflections:

  • when introducing yourself

  • when speaking about past collaborations

  • when naming what matters to you

That choice is always yours. No one else can see your Compass. You’re never asked to justify or explain what you find there.

A place for quiet self-recognition

This isn’t about becoming better. Or more. Or different.

It’s about recognizing what fits. What supports you. What you’ve already learned to carry. And what doesn’t belong on your shoulders.

In a world that often asks for proof, this is a place without witnesses.

No pressure. No comparison. No noise.

My Compass isn’t a feature. It’s a gesture.

A way of saying: You have a place to check in with yourself. You’re allowed to know where you stand. And you decide what, if anything, moves outward from there.

What's next

In the following post, we’ll share how cOMmon relates to contribution and appreciation more broadly. Not through scores or exchange, but through Credits, as a way of noticing presence, care, and shared effort.

As always, there’s no obligation. Just another layer, offered in the same spirit.
