Most of us don’t realize how often we steal energy from each other. This happens through unconscious patterns known as Control Dramas, behaviors we use to manipulate energy when we feel drained or insecure. Instead of creating synergy and balance, we pull energy from others to fill the gaps within ourselves.

The 4 Control Dramas: How We Manipulate Energy

  • The Victim: Gains energy by making others feel guilty or responsible for their struggles.

  • The Intimidator: Uses aggression, dominance, or fear to steal energy from others.

  • The Interrogator: Questions and criticizes, making others feel small to boost their own energy.

  • The Aloof: Withholds information, stays distant, or acts mysterious to draw energy and attention.

We all fall into these roles at times, often without realizing it. The first step to breaking free is awareness, noticing when and how we steal energy.

From Energy Theft to Synergy

The opposite of stealing energy is synergy, where energy flows freely between people, creating balance and growth. This happens when we shift from taking to giving and receiving openly. Here’s how:

  • Self-awareness: Recognize your energy patterns. Are you taking, giving, or creating balance.

  • Presence: Engage fully in the moment instead of seeking attention or control.

  • Empowered communication: Speak honestly, listen fully, and share energy instead of demanding it.

  • Collaboration: Work together instead of competing for energy.

A Simple Energy Awareness Practice

Next time you interact with someone, ask yourself:

  • Am I giving or taking energy right now?

  • Am I acting out of fear, insecurity, or need for control?

  • How can I create balance in this exchange?

True power comes not from taking, but from sharing and regenerating energy together.

What’s Next?

The next step in fair energy exchange is honesty, in both words and actions. Honesty builds the foundation for integrity and loyalty, ensuring that our energy exchanges are not only fair but also deeply rooted in trust. While honesty means speaking the truth, integrity is about aligning our actions with our words, and loyalty is about standing by those values even when it’s challenging.
